About The South Bowie Boys and Girls Club (SBBGC)
The South Bowie Boys and Girls Club (SBBGC) is one of 36 member clubs of The Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club(PGCBGC) which is a private, non-profit corporation incorporated under the statutes of the State of Maryland and is governed by a Board of Directors.
The organizational structure of the Club is designed to capture both board and non-board members input through the use of several committees that are charged with specific responsibilities to maintain the expertise needed to solve the day-to-day issues of the Club. Effectiveness and communication are open to all that have a sincere interest in giving back to the children in the community. As implied by the club name, SBBGC primarily serves the South Bowie community.
As a member SBBGC provides Prince George’s County youth opportunities to participate in many sports activities. Each club is administered by volunteers. At the present time, 3,000 volunteers serve 18,000 youth members of the Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club. SBBGC offers basketball, rugby, soccer, baseball, softball, cheerleading, track, and football programs for girls and boys ages 5 – 18. These activities are available to all youth living within and around the south Bowie community, regardless of ability and/or skill level.
Participants receive instruction from coaches who are American Sports Effectiveness Program qualified. Become involved and join the fun and the activities offered by SBBGC of the Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club. Adults, get involved as a volunteer.
